Mirack completed a $75,000.00 demolition subcontract for the removal of the spinal cord ward, approximately 17,500 SF of demolition in the Spinal Cord and Injury Spaces Building 100 at the VAPSHCS, Seattle, WA. The Owner of the project was the US Army Corp of Engineers. The scope of work included: demolition abatement of VCT mastic and demolition of all miscellaneous hardware including floors, ceiling tile, hand rails, bumper guards, etc. Plumbing fixtures such as toilets and sinks were removed, as well as HVAC duct work and ceiling grills. All demolition waste was gathered and separated for reuse, salvage, and recycling in order to minimize the demolition waste being diverted to local landfills. During demolition MIRACK provided safeguards, including warning signs, barricades, temporary fences, warning lights, and other similar items required for protection of all personnel during demolition and removal operations. The project also included the installation of infectious barrier and air monitoring.
